50 foot trees!

The trees in my neighbours garden are out of control. As you can see from the pictures, my fence is 5 feet. The trees must be in the region of 50 feet. The garden this tree is in is no more than 30 feet long. It’s been reported numerous times by myself and other neighbours to the landlord via the current tenants and also the letting agents, since I have lived here which is now 2 years. In those two years the trees in question have grown. And will continue to grow. Not once have I ever seen them cut or trimmed. I’ve made an official complaint via bairstow eves today as the house is up for rent again with them. They have just contacted me and basically the owner has said the trees were there when he bought the house. Which they were. He bought the house roughly 3 months after I moved in to my house. However this is irrelevant as he is the owner of the property whether he planted the trees or not. It is his responsibility to keep the maintenance of the house and gardens. He has said he will not cut it down, trim or remove it. If I want it cutting down I can pay for it for him. If this tree ever falls it will take out several houses and he will have to pay for it then. Not only this, it blocks 70% of the sun from my garden and house. It also sheds its spindles all over my garden which I have just spent two years making nice! My garden is on three levels and the same with next door. Meaning my lounge is three levels down from the top and where the trees are. So this then adds another 5 feet as I am considerably lower. Hopefully this will make sense in the pictures. My house is dark and gloomy downstairs from hardly any natural light and the sun goes off around 11 in the garden as it goes round the tree and then comes back out around 4. This is now affecting my health and my enjoyment in my own home. My lounge is dark and the view from my bedroom is of trees. I feel the owner and letting agents think it’s a joke. The lady on the phone today was rude and made me feel I was in the wrong and basically laughed when I said I would speak to the council.
