Condition of footpaths

Reported by John Martin Carrington MBE CEng FICE FIHT at 15:20, Wed 23 September 2020

Sent to Warwickshire County Council less than a minute later

I have waked many miles on local footpaths since the start of restrictions. My most obvious observation is the appalling condition of many footpaths. The worst are in the north of the town particularly Beverly Road and The Fairways. These roads were built in 1956.Only once in the past 64 years have they received any maintenance and that a poor attempt at slurry sealing about 25years ago. The paths are held together by patching, reinstatements and crossings. The paths failed years ago and are dangerous. They need a full reconstruction now. This was twice promised over the years. Another attempt at slurry sealing would be unacceptable as the paths are too week. J M Carrington
