Blocked Driveway
Reported in the Car parking category anonymously at 00:29, Thu 9 February 2012
Sent to Merton 1 minute later. Council ref: 1408337.
180 Wandle Road. We are a block of flats with 8 garages situated at the back of the flats. The driveway to these 8 flats are constantly blocked because people are parking their cars in front of the driveway to go to the doctors surgery which is a few doors away. The entire street has free parking, however because we are the closest to the surgery our driveway is always blocked and each time this happens I find the person at the doctors surgery. I don't mind the rest of the road being free parking, this particular spot causes issues when we as residence can't get in or out. Can the council please put a marking on the road to indicate no parking. The driveway is very narrow to turn into making it twice as difficult. Thanking you in advance for your assistance.

My experience of getting this problem resolved has come to a standstill because of the cost involved. I think it is unfair that we have to pay for a white line to be put in front of our driveway because drivers can't obey simple rules of the road. Cars are blocking our driveway due to patients visiting a doctors surgery directly across from our driveway, yet there is free parking on the entire of Wandle Road for all these patients to use. The council needs to take into consideration the inconvenience this is causing us residents bearing in mind the entire road has FREE parking. All we ask for is a white line to mark the area that is out of bounce to park. Is that not what controlled parking is all about?
