Parking on grass verges and pavements

Reported in the Car parking category anonymously at 19:57, Mon 21 September 2020

Sent to Hull City Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 2305611.

People are still using the grass verges to park, and also now parking on the path. The people doing this are often blocking the pavement - but they are also churning up the grass verge which is unsightly and also causing mud to be spread across the pavement, causing a slip hazard. This will only get worse in the upcoming autumn months.

This has been an ongoing problem for the past 18 months despite plenty of parking on the road.

There is a bollard at Holtby that has been knocked over as a result of people pulling up onto the grass verges to park their cars right in front of their houses.

Bins are getting knocked over because residents leave them out well after bin collection day. (These photos are from Monday the 21st, and the last black bin collection date was Thursday the 17th, so these are empty bins but it's a problem all the same.)

  • People still parking on verges, spilling onto the path. The verges are a disgusting mess so people aren't parking on the verge, but instead taking up the footpath. This is an absolute joke when there is ample parking, it needs sorting.
