Large amount of litter cleared from the storm drain running along Mably Way and under the footbridge leading to the health centre.

Reported in the Flytipping category anonymously at 08:37, Thu 17 September 2020

Sent to Vale of White Horse District Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 2298719.

A litter bin (or 2) is needed in the footbridge area, as well as netting on both sides of the footbridge if possible, to discourage people throwing litter into the ditch and surrounding hedges. This storm drain leads to Letcombe Brook, a globally rare chalk stream that is already suffering from litter entering it at various points through the town.

  • I was contacted by the waste services company about the issue but litter bins were not installed as a result.
