Resurfacing work to westbound carriageway stopped short

Reported in the Potholes category anonymously at 16:42, Sunday 13 September 2020

Sent to West Sussex County Council less than a minute later

Hanlye Land closed for 3 months to construct a new roundabout at junction with Balcombe Road. Resurfacing of Hanyle Lane westbound covers entrance to new housing estate at Penland Farm. However the construction traffic destroyed that part of Hanlye Lane up to and beyong the original entrance to Penland Farm. There is a length of 100m of rutted carriageway (nearside in westward direction) that needs resurfacing. No doubt a further road closure for a few weeks. Why wasn't this done at the same time? So shortsighted not to fix the damage caused by construction traffic. Cyclists swerve and car wheels thump down. Not good for motor bikes either.
