Vehicle impact damage to public structure

Reported in the Roads/highways category anonymously at 22:45, Thu 10 September 2020

Sent to Norfolk County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 2288974.

Bridge Street, Downham Market. On the traffic island between the entrance & exit for the Town Hall car park, (opposite Abbotts estate agent).

One of the metal poles that supports the roof of the public toilets has been struck and damaged by a vehicle. The roof overhangs the footway and public highway and could be a danger to highway users, hence it is reported as a highways safety issue.

If it is actually the responsibility of another authority to effect a repair to this damage, please would you forward this information to them and confirm you have done so. That way this record can be amended and kept up to date.

The attached photos show the damage to the pole and also to the drain grate at the base of the pole.

Thanks

To update you I have passed on your report to the Town Council who own the structure and asked them to make safe and keep me updated. We will check that the structure has been made safe ourselves as well and ensure the public are protected. The mayrise report will now be closed as this has been dealt with by the highways maintenance team. If you wish to have to have a future update please feel free to recontact us through the highways freephone contact number or the Town Council (who would be more best placed to update you as they will be organising/carrying out the repair). regards Mark Sharman, Area Technician West 2(b) Highways (CES) Tel: 01553 778038 | Dept: 0344 800 8020 | Mobile: 07787 523051 Saddlebow Depot ====
