Kissing gate on the path (Methwold FP 9) (1)
Reported in the Footpaths/ Rights of way (usually not tarmac) category anonymously at 20:34, Tuesday 8 September 2020
Sent to Norfolk County Council less than a minute later
Kissing-gate across the path, at the location of the pin on the map, and shown in the photos. No mention of a kissing gate on the definitive statement. Moreover the land is not being grazed.
As residenta for 30+ year we can assure you that this gate and the one on the opposite side of the lane were there when we came to the village in 1987. DT

Thank you. We don't doubt what you say - however, 30 years is only a recent fraction of the history of the path. The fact remains that the kissing gate is not recorded as a lawful limitation, and (unlike that on the opposite side of the lane) is not performing any function to prevent animals from escaping. Public paths need to be kept as obstacle-free as possible, for the benefit of the less able in our communities.

The field it leads into has been home to cattle in the past before the new development. This sounds like you just don’t know the area.
