Road surface extremely pitted and cracked

Reported in the Roads/highways category anonymously at 17:51, Fri 4 September 2020

Sent to West Sussex County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 2278883.

Not only are there dangerous potholes with drivers going to opposite side of road to avoid them and causing traffic disruption. The length and depth of the pitting and cracking also causes traffic disruption with the waste from these holes etc being scattered across the junction with the A270 and needs urgent attention especially as West Sussex has now received funding from the government.

Updates

  • The repairs which were carried out obviously were in adequate as the pot holes have reappeared This area needs the whole surface being removed and relaid across the whole road and for a distance of 25 metres from the junction.

  • I have received an email from Lucy Mack updating on future road resurfacing plans.

  • As Lucy stated in her email that this was due to be properly repaired in about 28 days which has now passed and there is no indication i.e. road signs informing of near future road works so can only believe this has been put on a back burner and I was only told this to try and appease me as I am constantly trying to get this properly repaired.

  • Why don't you divert traffic via Melrose Avenue during the short period of time these repairs will take and if they are done overnight it will reduce the impact on the flow of traffic.

  • This site doesn't seem to work in getting messages through to people who need to take control of this situation as previous message has gone unanswered. I will keep persisting until the problem is resolved.

  • This is pitiful that this area of road has not been fixed even the company responsible for potholes seem to have given up

  • This site is pointless as nothing seems to happen or ny body acknowledging it.
