Constant puddle in road next to road bumps

Reported in the Roads/highways category anonymously at 09:10, Wed 2 September 2020

Sent to Kent County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 2273621.

Water in the BT pipes rises up into the dent in the road before the BT manhole and road bumps. The dent refills unless exceptionally dry so after two days of dry weather it is still full of water and when cars travel over it sprays the foot path. This path is used to get kids to school . i have been reporting this problem foe several years. It needs to be fixed before road repairs start in October

Updates

  • Reading the engineers report it does not accept that it is ground water rising into the BT manhole and then into the dent in the road. Water board have checked that it is not a leak sometime ago and said it was not their water. The blocked BT pipe was cleaned several year ago to correct the problem and they had to dig up the road every 15 meters. My concern is that it is sorted before resurfacing starting 2 October. It would be terrible if the expensive new surface is dug up to sort the problem
