Overgrown footpath between Darlington Rd and Maple Crescent

Reported via iOS in the Pavements/footpaths category by Nick Hartnell at 13:15, Tue 1 September 2020

Sent to Hampshire County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 2273101.

I wish to bring to your attention the complete lack of any hedgerow maintenance on the footpath between Darlington Rd and Maple Crescent and now presents a safety hazard. This path is so overgrown that complying with social distancing is very difficult. The lighting is also obscured. Given the two schools that are adjacent and the increase in foot traffic this is now becoming an wider issue. Meanwhile the school has maintained their hedge on their side of the path. Despite making allowance for lockdown work restrictions for council workers I believe the local authority is now negligent in their responsibilities.

Updates

  • The lack of any corrective works now the schools have reopened continues to be a concern.

I have not received any response.
