Pavement obstruction
Reported in the Car parking category anonymously at 14:33, Thu 27 August 2020
Sent to Spelthorne Borough Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 2266504.
Along these stretch of Ashford Rd many cars are parked on a pavement. Usually drivers do leave space for other - pavement users. However, some by recless parking are forcing me to join main carriegway and negotiate with oncoming traffic. It is scary for me to push a pram along the road with two year old, and constantly monit the situation. Watch out a specially for lorries Road it self has 40 mph speed limit!

In these area, pavment obstruction is the norm. More important are car's mirrors than someone's life.
Today, I was forced to negotiate with incoming traffic - legal speed limit 40mph!
Some drivers leave enough room to pass with a pram. Some do not. When only one parks baddly, one is forced to join the carriegway, sometimes for a lengthy distance of handfull number of cars. Drivers parking at this location must be aware of causing obstruction. FYI on the other side of the road, there is plenty space to park up and no pedestrian movement.

Still open, via questionnaire -
Have you tried fly posting, politely and neatly the offenders wagons. They just need to be requested to park opposite as you have a young child and pram. These ----/****/motor heads are not able to think for themselves that people don't act or always think like them.

Also for the time being only I'd recommend you take the long, extra 200 yards or more right the way around this section, which is also the scenic route but don't tell the offenders, just to be on the safe side.
