Does anyone know the history of this - Nuclear Bunker maybe ?

Does anyone know what this compound is? Was it the old WW2 control room for PLUTO (pipeline under the ocean). Any ideas? Various air vents can be seen via sat' photos, and there is a ramp leading down to a covered entrance with large steel doors which look like blast doors. Very interesting. It is well hidden from the golf club by screening from conifers etc. It is separate from the gas compound in Ferry Road. It was easy to see when the college was there (from one of the top floors) or from a double decker bus. Could be a very important bit of local history.
