How to cripple the National Grid

Reported by Mr Splashman at 22:36, Thu 20 August 2020

Sent to Hertfordshire County Council and Welwyn Hatfield Borough Council less than a minute later

These rapid chargers can be rated at as much as 50kW (a domestic kettle is 2.7kW max with 2.2kW very common). If there are to be millions of electric vehicles on the roads, then thousands at any one time will be charging. 50kW is equal to about 17 kettles on the go all at once (and the kettle is usually only on for a few mins at the most). These things will cause power cuts, and in South Wales when there are floods/storms, there are often power cuts. Electric vehicles have some small scale use, but should be no substitute for a good hybrid design (use LPG/CNG or ethanol based fuels).

Don't say I didn't warn you. The more we rely on electricity, the more attractive it becomes as a target for the Chinese etc to cripple and render us helpless so they can wage war on us.

Very short sighted.

The climate is always changing, but there has never been so many people on the planet, all chopping down trees instead of planting more of them.
