Was disappointed to find works started on Windmill Road without any direct communication with those of us who live there. Would appreciate some direction regarding cycle lane etiquette - are cars and buses allowed to stray into the cycle zones? It looks like this will be required for two vehicles to pass. It would be useful for cyclists to know how secure and separate these lanes actually are. Can you tell me how you will be monitoring the speed of vehicles in the road? We have already told you our fears that a clear run down Windmill Road will encourage speeding (we see this all the time when cars are not parked there). What do we do about loading and unloading deliveries to homes now on the cycle lane/ double yellow lines? If vans are able to stop, how will you ensure that cyclists understand this rule? It might be helpful to write to all residents making clear how we should work with these changes - there may be other questions people have about the practical challenges surrounding the changes which you could advise on (parking for instance). You could also use such a communication to apologise to residents for springing this work on them without a note through the door to say it is happen
