16 charles street - a blocked surface water drain

Reported in the Blocked drain category by alvin peter slack at 20:23, Monday 3 August 2020 using FixMyStreet Pro

Sent to Lincolnshire County Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 374432.

The properties in this street have roof run off piped under the paths to go into street drains When new paths laid past 16 charles street a plastic coated steel sleeve was put in by council workers to replace original pot drain . It looks like the steel has corroded and pushed plastic sleeve off the wall inside the pipe causing flow restriction. It is causing water to backup and flood over into buffer garden I Think the pipe needs replacing. I noticed the water back up during recent storm and have tried jetting pipe out but cannot get through due to plastic obstruction. Also where the pipe is cut through kerb the cement has broken away leaving poss trip hazard Also there is a pothole in the middle of the road a few yards away from the property

  • Hi Highways team attended this week but not equipped to sort the problem. The corroded pipe is blocked with plastic coating breaking off internally and joint buffer gardens flooding and causing the property walls to be damp. This pipe installed from the properties under the footpath by the highways team due to path levels being raised and needs to be dealt with urgently to avoid property damage
