Vandalised bench

Reported via iOS in the Parks/landscapes category anonymously at 15:17, Sat 1 August 2020

Sent to Oxford City Council less than a minute later

I visited this little park off Highdown Close for the first time in months because of lockdown. It was in really good condition so well done Northampton council! There were two jarring features - one was this bench which may or may not be repairable. At the moment it is in bits which is just an invitation for further vandalism. The other was that your lovely graduated steps around the site are falling to bits for want of a bit of TLC. I’ve reported them before and nothing was done. Now there are at least two more steps where the retaining planks have either come off or been pulled off - I think a combination of both as I noticed some were coming loose the last time I visited. Can’t someone with a screwdriver just fix them back on? It would be the work of a moment surely? Come on Northampton - don’t spoil the ship for a ha’porth of tar.

  • This report should not have gone to Oxford. The GPS location I gave was a park in Northampton off Highdown Close. I completed the report when I got back to Oxford and the app has unilaterally changed the GPS. Sorry OCC! Is it possible to re-route this report to Northampton City Council?
