Road surface damage / worn surface

Reported in the Roads/highways category anonymously at 13:00, Thu 30 July 2020

Sent to Hampshire County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 2223490.

I would like to speak to someone about the road surface damage as you arrive into Headley, Thatcham from Newbury up the first hill. The excessive noise that this is causing has become a major disruption to the lives of the homeowners living along this stretch. The noise is also made worse by the 50/60+ mph speed of the much increased level of hgv vehicles using this road day and night in what is supposedly a 40 mph. If the road surface could be fixed (a quiet road surface would be a great help) then at least it would help to lower the noise levels.

Looking forward to some much needed help.

Kind regards Paul and Debbie Butler

Updates

  • This road has not been fixed this part of the road has lifted and caused pot holes and when lorries and cars drive over it it makes a thumping sound which is very annoying they say it is not unsafe for motorists so they will not do anything
