Reurfacing needed

Reported via Android in the Pavements/footpaths category anonymously at 07:09, Mon 20 July 2020

Sent to Hampshire County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 2207626.

I think this footpath /cycleway has had a lot of use throughout lockdown. But I've recently replaced my walking shoes and running trainers and still find this footpath painful to cover. My dog isn't keen on the surface either and I can imagine it's only fit for hybrid /mountain bikes. Can it be resurfaced please?

  • Response received 20 Jul, nothing further heard:

This path is not a Public Highway and wouldn't be resurfaced with tarmac by Hampshire Highways, reason being this is a Public Row of Way (ROW) Footpath which falls under our Countryside Team. ROW's generally are that type of surface or are sometimes gravel paths. I can see on mapping systems that it is a Footpath and as such Bicycles shouldn't be using this. However I have forwarded your email to our countryside team for further comment and confirmation and advice on possible next steps.
