Subsidence on footpath

Reported via iOS in the Pavements/footpaths category anonymously at 18:35, Wed 1 July 2020

Sent to Hampshire County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 2181648.

There is a footpath from north of the A303 underpass going uphill where after 500m it meets Leyton Way. See attached map; X marks the spot. A heavy vehicle has driven over the path causing the macadam to sink 15cm. Photo illustrates damage over a wide area.

Updates

  • Subsidence has now deteriorated to about 30cms. Evidence indicates there is a hole beneath the ground. TVBC has arranged a barrier around the hole to deter pedestrians. I assume restitution will commence shortly. Focus 30 Jul '20
