Sent to Argyll and Bute Council 2 minutes later
On Argyle Street there is an increase to the amount of people not cleaning up after their dogs. I have had several incidents right out side my door and want the council to put up signs warning as to the dangers of dog fowling, (dog waste can carry many illnesses and diseases such as: tosicariasis, Heartworms, Whipworms, Hookworms
Roundworms, Tapeworms, Parvo, Corona, Giardiasis, Salmonellosis, Cryptosporidiosis, Campylobacteriosis and fecal Coliform Bacteria). More bins for the disposal of dog poo should be provided and an increase to the fine imposed on owners who do not clean up after their dog could be used to pay for the above.
The council said they would monitor the area while carrying out day to day duties however the area is not much cleaner than before. They also were going to look into the bin situation, I'm not sure what this meant. They Environment Warden also contacted me to say that he was aware of the problem but that because of the area he covered he was reliant on the general public reporting incidents to him. I have seen an incident but was left wondering if I should follow the guy home to find out his address...!
