The street-lamps on this road and many others have been replaced with new LED units. This is quite frankly stupidity. These lights due to there cold blue spectrum create what is percieved as a sinister environment. This has been tested in psychological studies. Taking this into account you then have the following issue. Perception of sinister environment causes fear, which causes anger, which in turn increases antisocial behaviour. If this is not convincing enough, then refer to the councils policy on grafitti and broken windows. It is recognised as soon as one broken window or piece if grafitti is left untreated that it spreads like wildfire. As a result the council aims to tackle these issues quickly to avoid the higher cost of the increased damage that would follow if they did not. The reason for this effect is that people have an instinct to be offended and angry with regards to something they percieve as unpleasant, this inspires vandalism and antisocial attitude. This new lighting is very unpleasant and will cause the same issue to occur. Is nobody taking the time to think anything through?
