From Whitehill Lane to The Long Barn

Reported in the Pavements/footpaths category anonymously at 11:59, Wed 3 June 2020

Sent to Hampshire County Council and Winchester City Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 2140550.

The footpath has broken up and is overgrown, making it virtually impossible to push a buggy along it, walk in shorts or cycle with children on it.

  • The council have completely disregarded the issue. Young mothers with buggys have to walk in the dangerous road, and a friend in a mobility scooter recently was forced to make a long detour to get to Alresford, by travelling round what is marked on your map as St Swithin's way. A nasty bendy road to be on in a mobility scooter.

  • The council are completely disinterested in the plight of young mothers with buggies and elderly villagers trying to walk into Alresford. The traffic roars past at 60 mph (or more) making it impossible to walk on the roadside.

  • Hopeless council fails taxpayers for fourth year running. No action whatsoever. Mother's with children forced to pay bus fares to get to ALresford as path impassable

  • Amazingly TODAY they cut the grass to inspect the broken path. Last week we walked and had to do so on the busy B3047 as the path was impassable due to chest high grass and nettles.
