Dangerous Junction

Reported anonymously at 15:38, Fri 22 May 2020

Sent to Horsham District Council and West Sussex County Council 6 minutes later. FixMyStreet ref: 2125498.

Whilst heading North on the A24, the right hand lane (slip road) to turn right onto A272 is far too short and as such during busy periods causes unnecessary congestion with the middle lane (travelling North on A24) becoming blocked from use by cars queuing to turn right. Vehicles often pull out from the right lane to enter the middle or left lane at the last moment. I believe an incident is inevitable unless the right hand lane (slip road is greatly extended to at least twice its current length.

Updates

  • In recent weeks with COVID-19 restrictions, the problem was far less of an issue. However, now that restrictions are being lifted along with a general nervousness and reluctance of using public transport the roads are becoming far more congested and the issue of previously reported dangerous junction becoming once again more apparent.
