Street sign misleading

Reported in the Street nameplates category anonymously at 16:02, Thu 14 May 2020

Sent to Cherwell District Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 2107860.

Re the street sign on the junction of Weeping Cross, leading into Sideleigh Road. This bridleway only has vehicle access to 3 properties, beyond which there are bollards blocking access to the main Sideleigh Road. There is no turning area once vehicles have entered the bridleway and vehicles regularly reverse all the way down or speed unnecessarily. We are extremely concerned as there is a blind alleyway which joins this bridleway which is regularly used by families and schoolchildren. A reversing or speeding vehicle would not see anyone coming out of this alleyway until the last minute. E.g. last week a large skip lorry was reversing, hitting the properties on either side on the way down. The street sign needs to clearly state that there is access ONLY to 3 properties with NO turning area. It is only a matter of time, with increasing home deliveries, that there will be a fatality. We would be very happy to meet any representative who can visit and resolve this situation
