  • Due to the unprecedented situation with covid-19, the DVLA has currently ceased enforcement action on untaxed vehicles. This applies also to Councils such as Bromley who use devolved DVLA powers. This suspension of enforcement action will continue until advised otherwise by the DVLA. No further action will be taken regarding this vehicle at this time.

  • Please advise if the dvla has resumed enforcement action yet ? I can’t see anywhere on their website saying they have discontinued this

  • The DVLA have yet to advise us that they wish us to recommence with untaxed vehicle enforcement.

  • Bromley council do not need dvla permission to remove abandoned untaxed damaged unroadworthy vehicles left on the streets of Bromley borough. The car has been untaxed for several months and has clearly been left abandoned in an unroadworthy damaged stage after some kind of collision. Apart from being an eye sore, it is dangerous to leave like this. Please advise what action the council is going to make, thanks

  • We have not been advised that the DVLA have changed their policy at the moment as we continue to be in Lockdown albeit eased from the original status. This vehicle will be dealt with as soon as we are permitted to use Devolved Powers again. Until then this report will remain closed.

  • Please can you check again whether DVLA devolved powers can be applied to remove this vehicle. It has been sat abandoned in deteriorating condition for a year now, using up valuable parking space and is in dangerous condition to pedestrians with broken parts exposed. Please can you action asap

  • May I re-iterate my previous comments... We have not been advised that the DVLA have changed their policy regarding untaxed vehicles. At the moment we continue to be in Lockdown albeit eased from the original status. This vehicle will be dealt with as soon as we are permitted to use Devolved Powers again. Untaxed vehicles cannot be removed by LBB until due process has been completed. The vehicle is not considered to be abandoned. Until then this report will remain closed.
