The pavement at the back of 3 Binswood Avenue has been blocked because of works to the boundary wall of that house. It is well-marked but needs a ramp from the kerb to the road to allow older people (and there are many in Audley Village on Lillington Avenue to step down onto the road safely before rejoining the pavement where there is a dropped kerb.

I am a District Councillor for Clarendon Ward and a resident of Audley Binswood contacted me about this hazard which is at the back of 3 Binswood Avenue close to the roundabout with Northumberland Road and Binswood Street. The footpath closure is well-marked but there is an elderly population in the vicinity (Audley Binswood is a retirement village) and one neighbour from that village tripped when stepping down from the blocked footpath to the road and has ended up in hospital. A ramp from the footpath at the beginning of the closure to the road would be helpful. At the other end, there is a dropped kerb which makes it easier to step back on to the footpath.
