Multiple pot deep holes and large areas of desalination of road surface

Reported in the Potholes category anonymously at 16:23, Thu 16 April 2020

Sent to West Sussex County Council 2 minutes later. FixMyStreet ref: 2089529.

I had previously reported this problem 19th July 2016. A number of cheap repairs have been carried out over the years and now it is very bad. I have attached 3 photos of damage running 15 to 17 Maltravers St. I have more photos to show continuing up to far eastern end into one way system. WSCC said in 2016 that Maltravers Street was down for re-surface within 2 years (by 2018). It is now very overdue that this resurfacing must be completed urgently, as the road is now a danger! I would be pleased to meet your engineer on site to discuss the issue. Please contact me on 07710 019576/01903 889569 or via my email: robertswheal@gmail.com

Updates

  • Two smaller adjacent potholes which had been previously marked for repair have since been filled but the areas pointed out in my photos have not been white circled or repaired. It is a nonsense that the workmen should come out and only attend to two potholes leaving adjacent serious damage unrepaired! The general surfaces is potholed and the road surface has badly delaminated!

  • Damaged road surface and potholes not fixed. Very serious damage and dangerous for the travelling public. It is a disgrace!

  • Filled two smaller potholes leaving much worse missing surface (deep gouges and long) to the road untouched. It is quite incredulous that they can carry out a minor pothole repair leaving deep damage just a couple of feet away!

  • All as before!

  • A few minor and bad repairs have been carried out but leaving closeby pot holes and surfaces unrepairable! False economy! The whole of Matravers needs re-surfacing as was promised to us long before now!
