30MPH signs needed on Worthing road east preston

Reported in the Roads/highways category anonymously at 16:22, Wed 8 April 2020

Sent to West Sussex County Council 3 minutes later. FixMyStreet ref: 2083274.

This road needs 30MPH signs to remind drivers of the speed limit, as it can be a dangerous road to cross for pedestrians, drivers speed down to station road westbound and speed up from station road eastbound. This road is a 30MPH zone but I think drivers would plead ignorance when there are no signs?

Updates

  • Highways say 30mph signs are not required due to law and Highway Code regarding street lighting and 30mph residential speed limits which is disappointing but the highway inspector did reply, all I would say is the publics knowledge of the Highway Code these days would be doubtful to say the least. (Worthing road east Preston was the subject of my query).
