Vibrations in the house with large vehicles passing by

Reported in the Road and Pavement Issues category anonymously at 00:49, Sunday 29 March 2020 using FixMyStreet Pro

Sent to Bromley Council 1 minute later

We have been experiencing strong vibrations whenever a large vehicle moves over the road in front of our house. This is worrying us for our house. It's a heavy traffic road and vehicles are constantly passing by on this road with the regular speed limit of 30mph, unlike down the road where the speed is reduced.

The vibrations are significant, causing our house to shake. We can even feel on the glass windows of the backside of the house. We worry about damage to the fabric of the building should they continue much longer.

Can you please look into this matter and possibly reduce the speed limit to 20 mph, similar to the speed limit applied down the road near Grove Park station as well.

Many thanks in advance for your help.

Where requests are made for changes, our Traffic Management Team will consider all requests but often there is a need for a full investigation, planning and consultation within the local area particularly around proposed new traffic schemes, and any considerations must be balanced with borough-wide priorities.
