Sent to Caerphilly Council 2 minutes later
There is a problem with parents parking in Coronation Street. Basically there is too many parents driving into a very small street and end up parking anywhere which causing I feel a health and safety issue with us residence walking into the street and other parents doing the right thing and walking into the street dropping their children off. I have emailed the school about this problem. The headmistress notified me she has sent out a letter notifying parents not to park in Coronation Street and to use the train station car park. She also notified me she is getting sick and tired telling parents about their parking and the parents ignoring her that I should now on phone the police or council about this problem. Parents parking is not her problem and it's not in her jurisdiction to solve as it's off the school premises. I disagree with this as it's happening directely outside the school gates and it is a health and safety issue for parents and us residence living in the street. When you have parents having to walk between badly parked cars in a tight street trying to get to the school there is only a matter of time someone will get injured. I do believe now we do need permit parking in Coronation Steet to reslove this issue as the parents are not willing to listen to simple requests. There is a very good car park for every parent to use at the train station which is only a five minute walk away. Another option is to block the school entrance at Coronation Street and ask parents to use the main entrance in Mill street.
