15" Pothole adjacent hydrant iron in road on the line of travel.

Reported in the Potholes category anonymously at 10:44, Thu 12 March 2020

Sent to Norfolk County Council 1 minute later

This pot hole has been here for over 6 weeks. It is growing with each wet day. A few years ago this same spot had a hole that tore a tyre off my car when accessing the highway and wrecked the wheel.

Please will you inspect and repair as soon as possible as I am concerned that we are at risk of sustaining damage again.

The pothole is a direct result of blocked drainage from the ditch which should discharge under the road into the field ditch. The pipe is no longer running. You have dealt with this before and I would appreciate repair of the blocked pipe or a new mole drined discharge pipe being installed. Happy to help with this. This draininage issue has been a problem for years and has been reported before its a big nuisance and has resulted in this hole and weakening of the road over a length of 50m. Please help.

  • Well donne! The white lines painted round the hole were as usual very pretty. They have gone now worn away by the vehicles constantly running through the hole. I am losing count of the times I hear families cycling down the road calling out mind the pot hole. Its nearly impossible to reverse out pf my driver without hitting the hole. On the last occasion a hope appeared here I ended up with a tyre destroyed. I hope NCC will get this repaired as soon as possible though do recognise restrictions at this time. Please can NCC look at some of the REALLY big holes between here and Dereham too before someone looses a horse small car or group of children on bicycles! (Stone road)

  • Why waste money painting white lines round a hole? There is no trace of the white paint anymore. I shall fill the hole with concrete.
