Dangerous pedestrian crossing
Reported in the Pavements/footpaths category anonymously at 20:17, Thu 8 September 2011
Sent to Clackmannanshire Council 2 minutes later. FixMyStreet ref: 202017.
When you travel by car from Clackmannan Road Roundabout, along Greenside Street and turn sharp left at the roundabout serving the public service road into Tesco there is a pedestrian crossing. The left side of this crossing is flanked by a hedge which makes it dangerous for, in particular children, as they cannot be seen by approaching motorists as stated.Approx 2-3 yards of this hedge needs to be removed completely to make this crossing safe for pedestrians, so that motorists can see then approaching/stepping into the roadway on the crossing.

Visited the area yesterday-nothing has been dobe here. It is a simple matter ton cut this hedge back to allow approaching motorists to see approaching small children. Do we need to wait until a child or other person is injured before anything is done. This pedestrian crossing may be owned by Tesco and maybe they should be informed if the Council Roads are not accepting responsibility. Thank you.

The dangerous aspect of this pedestrian crossing is unchanged. Nothing has been done. It is a simple matter to resolve it before someone is injured, or do we have to wait until this happens and write it off as the driver's fault. Will no one accept responsibility for this problem?!

Shrubbery has been cut back to lower hight and back from crossing, making it easier for motorists to see pedestrians/small children approaching from town centre side. This needs to be done on a regular basis, not just once a year!
