In Bevan Lee Road, particularly the stretch from house number 173 to house number 179, the previously attractive grass verges are being destroyed. Vehicles, both those owned by residents and others, such as trade vehicles, regularly drive the whole length of the verge and park on verges. This has been reported in the past, but no action has ever been taken. Mud from areas where the grass has been completely killed off has transferred onto the pavement, making it slippery and dangerous. It's almost impossible to access the pavement without getting footwear covered in mud. This is also the case on the parts of the opposite side of the road, where one section of the verge hasn't had any grass for years. Grass verges contribute to making the urban landscape more attractive. They should not be being used as roads and car parks!
