Contractors are allowed to close the road between 09.30 and 15:30 each day. This is on your website, and has been confirmed by HS2. Contractors have been closing the road outside these hours (all day on Thursday, and this morning), and when asked told me that the road was permanently closed with no access for 2 years.

Contractors are allowed to close the road between 09.30 and 15:30 each day. This is on your website, and has been confirmed by HS2. Contractors have been closing the road outside these hours (I was stopped at 08.45 on Thursday 13th, and this morning), and when asked told me that the road was permanently closed with no access for 2 years. They put up one of 2 signs; either closed from 09.30 - 3.30, or just closed. The latter when closing the road outside of agreed hours.

HS2 is a government promoted project and its construction has been authorised by a specific Act of Parliament rather than a planning permission granted by the Council. Consequently, the Council has had limited control over and input into the construction of the railway, and any complaints and issues relating to this must be reported using HS2’s helpline number, which is 08081 434 434 or by email to HS2enquiries@hs2.org.uk.
