There is a very large mature field maple tree at this location. This is a native species that is home to multiple birds.(thrushes, goldfinches, robins, blackbirds, doves and pigeons) and squirrels. We also have bats that fly over our garden that use the tree for orientation. The wildlife are a joy to watch and allows us to take part in the annual birdwatch survey. Field maples also have a complex role in the ecosystem laying host to Caterpillars and other insects that act as pest control. Field maples are one of the top tree species to counteract air pollution. Due to its considerable size it will also help with flood protection within the area. Although the tree trunk is located on different proprty the tree gives significant privacy and shelter to our garden. Due its size it is visble from multiple houses. Due to its contribution to the ecosystem, it is irreplacable and its protection is vital
