Further drainage/surface water issues due to eroded road surface and hole in road
Reported in the Roads/highways category by James Clark at 14:32, Wednesday 12 February 2020
Sent to North Yorkshire County Council 3 minutes later
Surface water is missing the drains/gulley due to the hole in the road just uphill from the gulley, the eroded road surface causing water to flow round the gulley and the eroded/collapsed road along the uphill side of the aco drain causing the water to flow alongside and past the drain rather than into it. This is causing the road to collapse even further so it is now dangerous to drive over this part of the road at anything above a snail's pace without causing vehicle damage. The dip is now over 10cm and spreads across the full width of the road.
This is report 4 of the requested issues (by NYCC on Twitter) not marked up last week for repair by NYCC on 17-18 Feb. more to follow
Councillor and MP now supporting the residents in this battle. Council have accepted that some repair is required but are only planning superficial repairs, rather than addressing and remedying the cause of the issue. We’ll keep fighting.
