The problem described below was transferred to Highways 21st November 2019 from another council department, but to date nothing has been said or done. Over the past few years I've reported that when it rains the gully drain outside (Between 10 & 12 ST Georges Ave RM17 5XB) becomes a fountain, thereby flooding the road and breaching the pavement and downwards towards my garage. Your gully cleaning personal have cleaned the drain many a time, but doesn't make any difference. I firmly believe that there is a blockage within the pipes under the verge probably caused by tree roots. I do fear that if we have persistent heavy rain for any length of time, my drain in front of the garage will not be able to cope with the amount of water that cascades down the drive from the flood in the road. I have just witnessed this again today, and more apparent that the passing cars don't slow despite the water across the road, spraying the water over the garden wall and soaking any pedestrian walking, as they did today, causing the school girls to take evasive action by running into another driveway to avoid being completely soaked. 10FEB20 An update to the above, I observed yesterday that the gully drain outside No 9 opposite was also making a fountain. A resolution to this matter would be appreciated before any damage is done to my property
