Sent to Oxfordshire County Council 3 minutes later. Council ref: 1986145.
Cars come fast around a blind corner straight onto a foot path crossing. There is a near miss every day. No traffic calming or warning. Also needs a mirror so residents pulling out of drive can see around the blind corner.
Thank you for your enquiry. This issue has been passed onto the relevant team for investigation.

The county does not provide or support the use of road mirrors on the highway. The image they provide can be misleading in terms of vehicle speed and distance giving drivers a false sense of security, potentially leading to vehicles emerging injudiciously. They are prone to vandalism, fogging in poor atmospheric conditions and glare from the sun or car headlights. If, however permission is granted by a landowner adjacent to but off the highway and therefore outside the jurisdiction of the County, a suitable post and mirror may be erected.
The County could accept no responsibility for a mirror that is erected.
State changed to: No further action
