Unmarked Roadworks causing gridlock

Reported by Martin R at 18:35, Wednesday 5 February 2020

Sent to Lambeth Borough Council 7 minutes later

Some company has blocked the left lane at the traffic lights on the corner of Leigham court road, turning into Valley road and put in 4-way temporary lights.

This is causing gridlock in all directions. It took 20 minutes to get from Mount Nod road, to Broxholm road along Leigham court road,

No work is taking place, there is no obvious issue with the road, and there is no signage to explain who is responsible, or what is happening. I suggest £100 compensation for every poor driver that has been caught up in this .

It appears to have been there today, don't think it was there before.

Updates

  • I eventually got through to Thames water on the telephone, and they sent someone to remove the roadworks. Apparently, they were waiting for the electricity board to give the go-ahead, but that could have been ages.
