Unsafe when cyclist use pedestrian sidewalk

Reported in the Road signs category anonymously at 17:45, Monday 3 February 2020 using FixMyStreet Pro

Sent to Warwickshire County Council 6 minutes later

Plenty of cyclists using the pedestrian pane in the rush hours at high speed, when young children go to or return from school. It waits for disaster to happen and in need of urgent reassessment.

  • I would suggest looking at the highway code. As seen in the photo the blue sign with a pedestrian and cyclists means the pathway is a shared pedestrian/cycleway. So cyclists have every right to be on the path. I cycle this route every working day but always cycle at a speed that is dependent on how many pedestrians are on the path and ring my bell to warn. Some group of pedestrians though are very inconsiderate and seem to think its fine to occupy the full width of the path. Should also be noted that plenty of school children cycle on the cycleway too.
