Excessive mud on road causing a very slick and dangerouse surface for driving on

Reported in the Roads/highways category anonymously at 13:54, Mon 27 January 2020

Sent to West Sussex County Council 2 minutes later. FixMyStreet ref: 1963430.

Excessive mud on road causing a very slick and dangerous surface for driving on. It appears that the verge land ditch has been cleaned out by means of a mechanical digger and the mud and spoil pilled upon the verge and road surface. This in turn is being tracked further onto the highway by the many vehicles using the road. Water and mud is also accumulating as it cannot drain away due to the bank of mud. To avoid it vehicles are moving into the middle of the road which is on a blind bend. This is in conjunction with the very slippery road surface which will effect braking distance has created a very high risk to road users.
