Monopole large direction sign on Bromley side of Crystal Palace Parade (nr jct Anerley Hill) not facing oncoming traffic

Reported in the Street Lighting and Road Signs category anonymously at 17:40, Friday 24 January 2020

Sent to Bromley Council 5 minutes later

Monopole large direction sign on Bromley side of Crystal Palace Parade (nr jct Anerley Hill) not facing oncoming traffic. An effective former two-pole-mounted sign was replaced circa year 2000 with this 'trendy' single pole mounted sign. Ever since the wind, or vandals have regularly rotated the large sign about the single pole so that the road junction information sign is facing away from the approaching lanes at this 5-way junction. Please replace this sign with one that does not regularly rotate by wind or vandals. A permanent solution is needed. Thank you

  • This report has been referred to our Traffic Management Team who are responsible for the way traffic is managed on Bromley's roads; including, but not limited to, implementing new road markings and signage in relation to road safety and parking; walking and cycling improvements, including identifying locations for new cycle racks and installing Vehicle Activated speed signs - however, please note that responsibility for enforcing speed limits rests with the Police.

Where requests are made for changes, our Traffic Management Team will consider all requests but often there is a need for a full investigation, planning and consultation within the local area particularly around proposed new traffic schemes, and any considerations must be balanced with borough-wide priorities.
