Central Island not illuminated
Reported in the Roads and Carriageways category anonymously at 10:35, Fri 24 January 2020
Sent to Oxfordshire County Council 5 minutes later. FixMyStreet ref: 1958375.
The central island is not illuminated relying on reflective keep left signs. Travelling from the A4074 Portway direction these are not visible as the island is on a bend so you don't approach head on meaning the signs don't reflect.
The new road layout is very dangerous with bus stops in live traffic on a national speed limit stretch of road, Very poor road design which I am extremely surprised OCC Highways passed.
There have already been accidents here as well as near misses. With the 100 new houses being built in the CABI grounds and the increase of traffic that will bring this is only going to get worse and it is only a matter of time before someone is seriously injured or killed here!

This island in the middle of the road needs to be illuminated urgently in both directions. Signage has been knocked down. Have witnessed several near misses and the recent accident in which an ambulance hit the island crashing into oncoming traffic surely would highlight the poor lighting/badly designed section of this road.

Central island near CABI invisible at night from westbound direction. An accident has left it with no reflective bollard or light. It is a danger to pedestrians waiting for buses in the vicinity and needing to cross road.

Thank you for your enquiry. We have contacted the developer, Cala Homes today and advised them that for road user safety, the street lights need to be installed and connected as a matter of urgency. We are waiting for Cala Homes to confirm when this work will be completed. Kind regards Road Agreements
