Dog fouling
Reported in the Street Cleansing category anonymously at 16:00, Tue 21 January 2020
Sent to Bromley Council 6 minutes later. FixMyStreet ref: 1953027.
There are eleven heaps of dog dirt along the south side of Pleydell Avenue. It has become a serious problem for residents. The same owner walks a dog daily down the road and the mess is building up.

Nothing was done by the Council either to clean the street or to address the problem, which has been ongoing. I've taken action myself, spraying the dog dirt with brightly coloured chalk spray, to help people avoid treading in it, and have also used a stencil to request that people pick up after their dogs. Having caught the culprit in the act, I'm hoping that this issue will now be resolved.

Still open, via questionnaire -
Enforcing against dog fouling is extremely difficult as we have to catch the offender 'in the act'. Signs can deter but are often ignored by those irresponsible enough to let their dogs foul the pavements and parks. If you are able to provide us with any information regarding specific locations, breed of dog, description of owner, timings of offences or any other further information that would be most helpful.

There is an owner (who's address I now know in Pleydell Gardens, which runs perpendicular to the top of Pleydell Avenue) of two dogs - one large boxer type and a small terrier. They walk the dogs daily up and down the street until they've done their business and never pick it up. There was a lull when I first started stenciling and spraying, but it started up again. I gave the owner a warning at the weekend (having finally caught them in the act) that I'd report them if it happened again, so I'm waiting to see what happens next. I pointed out to them that there is a park just over the road. I've seen them walking on our road with them since, but they haven't left mess over the past two days, which is progress. But if you care to get in touch, I can give you their address (I am not sure if this is a public forum).
