Traffic calming needed outside OLSE primary school

Reported by John-Paul Walsh at 12:57, Monday 13 January 2020

Sent to Lancashire County Council and Preston City Council 5 minutes later

Over the last 4 years the traffic along Lightfoot Lane has increased dramatically to the point where it now queues from Garstang road junction down to Belton Hill on a daily (weekday) basis.

Traffic from the North is not using the Phantom Winger/Eastway route due to queuing traffic and is instead speeding down Lightfoot Lane, often in excess of 40MPH, in the 20mph area.

It is only a matter of time before an accident occurs near the school.

I'm fully aware there is a lollipop person from 08:15am but school drops start from 07:30am.

There is desperate need for some traffic calming measures along the stretch of road closest to the school.

Please advise what action can be taken and if not how this can be escalated.
