Traffic light always changes to red on approach

Reported in the Traffic lights category anonymously at 10:34, Sun 12 January 2020

Sent to West Sussex County Council 2 minutes later. FixMyStreet ref: 1932327.

When approaching this junction from the south, the traffic light on Blackhorse Way is usually red and stops the traffic. This causes an unnecessary delay, especially in the evening, since there are no pedestrians or buses using the junction and the light does not need to be red. No priority is given to the through traffic.

Updates

  • The lights default to red, which is unnecessary. They should be set to be green for the through traffic on Blackhorse Way to avoid congestion and unnecessary waiting at the junction, changing to red to allow buses to exit the bus station, or pedestrians to cross.
