Pavement at southern end/corner of High Street, Upper Dean

Reported in the Pavements/footpaths category by Nick Leigh at 14:25, Fri 8 July 2011 ; (there is no pin shown as the user did not use the map)

Sent to Bedford Borough Council less than a minute later

The pavement at the southern corner of the High Street, Upper Dean (outside Corner House) has once again broken up as a result of large vehicles riding over the pavement, to the extent that the kerb edge is now flush with the carriageway. This makes it dangerous or unusable for elderly pedestrians or those with pushchairs 9who have to use the carriageway itself). Please reinstate as a matter of urgency. Nick Leigh, Corner House

  • The response by Bedford BC was very good. However, this is an on-going problem due to the foundations of this path being too shallow and therefore unable to withstand the weight of HGVs cutting the corner.

    State changed to: Fixed
