Vehicle debris, General plastic and cardboard waste on the verges

Reported in the Street cleaning category anonymously at 13:54, Saturday 4 January 2020

Sent to Hillingdon Borough Council 1 minute later

As observed, 15:55, 3/01/2020, Vehicle debris, including bodywork parts and partial lorry tyre carcasses, general plastic and cardboard waste strewn on the hard shoulder and in the vegetation on the embankment of the Westbound carriageway of the A40 between the Long Lane flyover and Swakeleys Roundabout. In my opinion this represents a possible hazard to driving for anybody attempting to use the hard shoulder at this point, as well as presenting a hazard in the event should the current still air conditions change and the wind blows the large areas of plastic sheeting currently festooning the roadside shrubbery. Also represents potential fire hazard from vanadalism. Has clearly been in this condition this for some time. Does absolutley nothing to convince passing coach loads of tourists that they are about to enter the "Garden of England".

So, whichever road authority is responsible for clearance of road side litter on this road (Highways UK/TFL/Local councils), I would suggest it needs prompt "Spring clean action".

Love and kisses and a happy New Year, a concerned road user
