Access to a public pavement blocked

Reported in the Road and Pavement Issues category anonymously at 10:41, Thursday 2 January 2020 using FixMyStreet Pro

Sent to Bromley Council 4 minutes later

Access to a public pavement blocked for the past two weeks. In order to continue walking on the same side of the road a person has to go on to the road. No idea how this was ever approved by the council.

  • Thank you for contacting The London Borough of Bromley regarding the footway which has been closed outside 78 Anerley Park. Our contractors have been instructed to return and make the area safe for pedestrians.

  • Our contractor has been notified to take the appropriate action.

  • Nothing has been actioned and this section of footpath is still completely blocked and is very dangerous. I have had to step into the road through parked cars to get past. If this blockage is to continue then you should provide safe passage past the area in question. Please confirm whether this is an authorised closure, in which case it has been dangerously arranged, an if it is not authorised please confirm that action will be taken against the contractors involved.

  • The closure here is authorised and the contractors have been asked to return and complete works.
